YCAC 2.0 was one-day conference in Owen Sound, inviting area students to share knowledge, show understanding, and if they choose to do so, take leadership on issues of environmentalism. YCAC challenges youth to come up with a great community project, work on it all winter, and then present it to the broader community at Earth Day Grey Bruce festival. All these workshop and project planning sessions on November 21, 2023 in the afternoon was preceded by a morning of listening and sharing with civic leaders (see below) + an outdoor activity planting trees at Sydenham Campus + a hallway climate fair of various not-for-profit groups. The organizers created a safe space for students to share and participate in dialogue about how all generations can have agency here in southern Ontario with our own actions on climate & landscapes, as well as with broader activism generally.

All adults in attendance were community volunteers, volunteering for The Sustainability Project, and were

  • invited to a "taco bar" lunch, with fresh ingredients and reducing food waste, from Elephant Thoughts, and
  • completed the Volunteer waiver.

The YCAC 2.0 Theme was Multisolving: "Connecting ____ to Climate Action".
