Community Food Gleaning Project

Sharing Local Food Harvests with Those Who Really Need It

Gleaning is bringing food that would otherwise go to waste into a space of sharing, connecting local food producers with food banks, meal-programs and vulnerable end-users. In 2025 we are partnering with food producers as we expand our relationships with local growers. We will direct this seasonal produce to a number of existing food rescue initiatives.

We aim to organize weekly harvests to which community members will be invited to take part in a meaningful common project, in the hope of fostering a sense of connection to place and building skills and awareness around seasonal food harvesting.

If you'd be interested in assisting, just get in touch with us! You can always contact us here.

Funding for this project is provided by Community Foundation Grey Bruce, and led by local young farmers Lydia Dyck and Suraiya Foss-Phillips.
